Flying drones in the Netherlands is subject to strict rules and regulations. It is therefore very important that you take responsibility for checking the applicable flight conditions at your chosen location.
Checking flight conditions yourself
Before we schedule a drone shoot, we ask you to check whether drone use is permitted at the location. Drone regulations can vary by area, and some locations, such as those near airports, nature reserves, residential areas or other sensitive zones, have specific restrictions or prohibitions.
We recommend using the official tools of the Dutch Civil Aviation Authority (RLD), such as the “Aviation and Drone Map”, to check whether flying is permitted at the intended location. This helps avoid unexpected complications during the shoot.
Our drone photographer’s right to refuse
Even if you have checked the flight conditions in advance, our drone photographer may still decide not to carry out the flight on site. This may happen because of:
- Unforeseen safety risks;
- Changes in weather conditions;
- Other circumstances that make flying unsafe or unlawful.
In such cases, our photographer reserves the right to refuse the flight in the interests of safety and compliance with the law.
Legal consequences of unlawful flying
If a flight takes place despite applicable restrictions, there may be legal consequences for the client, estate agent, photographer (pilot) and Boykeys B.V. These may include fines, claims for damages or other measures by government authorities.
We emphasise that compliance with drone laws and regulations is the responsibility of the client and/or estate agent. Boykeys B.V. is not liable for any legal consequences arising from unlawful drone use or failure to comply with the rules.
